Our Wedding

It all began at a youth field day, where Teresa was running around gleefully pouring water on everyone. Huy noticed her and thought, “Who is this random girl pouring water on everyone?” So, naturally, he decided to get her back on behalf of everyone else. Little did he know, that playful revenge would lead to him getting cupcakes in the face for the next few weeks.Despite the chaos, the two became great friends. What Teresa didn’t realize was that Huy had started to develop feelings for her. They continued living their lives as friends until one day, Teresa and her friend Joe discovered that they lived surprisingly close to Huy and his friend Khiem.The four of them began spending a lot of time together—until the boys took a trip to Washington for Joe’s birthday. Teresa stayed home and couldn’t help but notice how much she missed them. Her friend Amy finally pointed out what Teresa hadn’t realized herself: maybe she didn’t miss all the boys—just one in particular.

Not long after, Huy and Teresa volunteered to help with Thieu Nhi Camp. That year, a storm hit the campsite and forced everyone to relocate to the church. Huy and Teresa were assigned to clean up the original campsite together. They spent the day working side by side, bonding, and even sneaking in a little piano lesson—Huy teaching Teresa how to play.Later that summer, Teresa planned a camping trip with friends that seemed doomed from the start: double-booked campsites, no space to paddleboard, exploding camp stoves, and even a few burns. But one thing did go right—Teresa and Huy spent the entire trip together. That trip became the spark that led to them hanging out one-on-one from then on.

A few weeks later, Huy asked Teresa to go to a water lantern festival “as friends.” Teresa swears it wasn’t a date—but Huy says he was definitely trying to be romantic (and it worked!-Huy).After a few months of spending more and more time together, the question of making things official started to linger. Teresa was hesitant because of her past, and Huy was nervous—it would be his first time officially asking someone to be his girlfriend. But after a while, Teresa couldn’t wait any longer and started demanding that Huy finally make it official. And so, on September 19, 2019, he did.

Over the years, they learned and grew together through both the highs and the lows. Then came 2025—when Huy and Teresa took a trip to Korea. On April 15th, they spent an action-packed day exploring different cities, visiting the North Tower, writing postcards to each other, and laughing as Teresa devoured the bluest cotton candy imaginable—completely unaware that she was only an hour away from being proposed to.At Namsangol Hanok Village, in the crisp evening air, Huy tried (and failed) to convince Teresa to take off her coat for pictures. Finally, as they reached the perfect spot, Huy got down on one knee—and Teresa said “YES!”Even though this is our story, it’s just the beginning. We’re so excited to share our next chapter—and our special day—with all of you.

Amy came into my life out of no where, and she was just so full of energy. My life is so much more vibrant with her by my side, I've never met someone that knows me so well. Sometimes it truly feels like we share one brain cell, Amy can always read my mind. Amy has been my best friend for over a decade, and when I thought about this next chapter of my life I couldn't imagine doing it without her. I joke with Huy that she's been chosen before I even knew it would be Huy.

Sabrina has the biggest heart that I know, and I know with her by my side on my wedding day I will be surrounded by so much love. She has such a gentle soul, and I always feel at peace when I am with her. I feel like this girl doesn't have a mean bone in her body when it comes to the people that she loves. She is also so inspirational, that girl doesn't let anything get in the way of her dreams. And she motivates me everyday to be a better person.

Gabby was probably one of my first friends in Thieu Nhi, and I'll always be grateful for leading me to such wonderful life long friends. Gabby is such a thoughtful person, and I feel like she is always looking out for me. She is super protective of  me and has taught me how to choose myself first. In a room full of everyone talking, I know Gabby will still hear me. Gabby is also always the quickest to call it as it is, and I trust her opinion so much.  I know I will feel safe with her by my side for my wedding day.

Monica and I became friends at Thieu Nhi, and even though she left Thieu Nhi pretty early on we still kept in touch. Monica has been my number one cheerleader from day one. She makes me believe in myself with how much she believes in me. She's constantly keeping in touch, makes the effort to actually care about me. She always makes me feel like the prettiest girl in the room, and I can't not have her on my wedding day.

Bryant is a person I would recommend anyone to look up too. Growing up I have always seen the dedication, the hard work, and the gentle/caring heart. He is always wanting the best, not only from himself, but for everyone he surrounds himself with. Even with all that Bryant takes on, I know he will make the time for you when you need it. There are moments for myself where I do feel like I am overreacting (Even if those moments are Rare - I think) Bryant is one person I trust to have a level head to tell me the truth, even if I am in the wrong.  The best thing is that even though we are related by blood I can still call him one of my best friends!

Anthony is someone that surprisingly came in to my life recently (10 years ago). I never thought that I would need another best friend especially being gifted with so many that I grew up with and still in my life. He’s someone I trust to help me stay on track and bring out the best in me. He is officially named first Gym Bro.  Anthony is also one of the few people I can fully trust from my feeling to things I need help to get things done. Even if he doesn't know where to start he takes his own initiative to figure it out!

Khiem has always been a person I can call to go do anything with, whether it is to go eat, travel, or to play any and all sports. I had the honor with growing up with Khiem since we were young. Seeing him grow through the years I can say he is one of the most talented and well round person I know. He can sing, very sports oriented, smart, and overall just a great person!  I am very lucky to have Khiem in my life and I know that everyone that is associated with Khiem can easily say the same thing.

Joe is a friend that I didn't think I would be as close with growing up. Over the years he has been a person that I am able to speak about goals and troubles. Not only that but Joe has been someone that helps me bring out my other half; if its being sporadic and out going or being calmed and focused. I think the craziest thing about our friendship is that he is more my friend now than Teresa's, even though Teresa and Joe was best friends first!
